For the dough

  • 4 units of Frozen Baked Whole Ripe Banana
  • 4 cups of water
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 oil for frying

For the filling

  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

  1. Cooking the plantains
    Bring the water to a boil with the cinnamon sticks and sugar.
    Add the ripe plantains and cook until soft.
    Peel and mash until you get a smooth dough.
  2. Filling
    Heat the milk with the sugar and vanilla.
    Add the dissolved cornstarch and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Let it cool completely before using.
  3. Shaping
    Work the plantain dough once cooled.
    Take small portions, shape into discs, add the filling in the center, and seal carefully to avoid openings.
  4. Frying
    Fry in oil over medium heat until golden brown.
    Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  5. Serving
    Optionally sprinkle with sugar before serving.
