COCONUT WATER: THE ORIGIN

Coconut Water has long been a popular drink in the tropics, especially in Costa Rica, India, Sri Lanka, Brazil, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cote d’Ivoire, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, northern Peru, Caribbean islands, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Mexico. It is usually available fresh, even in the coconut nut or bottled. Pure coconut water is only obtained by removing it from a green coconut. During World War II, coconut water was used to give emergency plasma transfusions.

 

Its flavor can even be slightly salty, if the palm is near the sea water, or, on the coast of the beach. It is also known as pipe water in Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador and the Colombian Pacific.

 

There are many varieties of coconut: the one that imports Eurobanan is called «Nucifera». Although in the West we know it for the delicious flavor of its «central bone» or «pulp», in its place of origin they also enjoy the liquid that it contains inside, known as «coconut milk» (considered a natural isotonic drink) .

 

The coconut is also known for its many culinary applications: either in dishes or through exotic and surprising cocktails, this tropical fruit enjoys the favor of many people who appreciate its unique and intense flavor and the sensations it evokes. Of course, we must consume it in moderation because its caloric intake is high
